SUNWAY SUNDAY FLEA MARKET @ SUNWAY LAGOON CLUB
A platform for new entrepreneurs
The Sunway Lagoon Club organised its inaugural Sunday Flea Market on 2nd August 2009 from 10am to 7pm. Aimed to create a healthy weekend activity for the public, the flea market was held to encourage entrepreneurship amongst the surrounding community.
The stalls consisted of budding entrepreneurs from the community and this was a first business venture for most of them. The array of items on sale included home-cooked traditional food, handmade accessories and handicrafts, souvenirs, apparels, knick-knacks and lots of other fun items.
The special children of SMK Bandar Sunway also took up a stall. Their hand painted cups, and handmade bookmarks and cards made by the special children were popular wares on that day.
Few of the popular inhabitants of Sunway Lagoon’s Interactive Zoo also added delighted the curious crowd especially the children.
Shoppers at the flea market were treated to a free mini shoulder massage at Mandara Spa. It was a treat to relieve tiredness from walking and exploring the various stores.
The Sunday Flea Market will be a regular affair at Sunway Lagoon Club every first Sunday of the month. Sunway Lagoon Club is a family recreational club with dining and sports facilities, gymnasium, banquet and recreational halls. Regular activities and classes are also open to the community. The Club also caters to banqueting and events from external parties.
