Chief Inspector Foils Extortion Attempt

Two suspects nabbed in Subang Jaya

LUCK was obviously not on the side of a group of extortionists who were targeting a victim for his money.
Instead of successfully running off with the loot, two of them landed themselves in the lock-up.
It is understood the victim, a man in his mid-thirties, was making his way to his motorcycle parked at the Port Klang industrial zone, when he was approached by men in a Satria Neo.
On the pretext of asking for directions, it is understood one of the men in the car bundled the victim into the car.
“The victim was beaten and threatened by the suspects throughout the ride to Subang Jaya.”
“He was relieved of his cash. Because he didn’t have much on him, the victim was driven to a bank in Subang Jaya to withdraw more,” a source said.
The victim, worried for his safety, made his way to the first floor of the bank, followed closely by one of the suspects.
“The victim was lucky. Coincidentally SS17 officer-in-charge Chief Inspector Sulaiman Baputty was on his rounds.”
“In fear, the victim approached Sulaiman who was in uniform and quickly explained to him his predicament,” the source said.
It is understood Sulaiman immediately called for back-up and successfully managed to arrest two suspects waiting in the car.
One suspect who was waiting outside the bank managed to slip away.
