Flyover Heads into a Storm with Residents

RESIDENTS of USJ3 A, B, C, D have made their stand clear to the developer of the flyover which connects Subang Heights and USJ3 -meet the conditions set or else forget all about opening it.
Sleepless nights have plagued residents in this area especially about the impending traffic congestion at the intersection of Persiaran Tujuan if the bridge which connects Batu Tiga in Shah Alam to their area.
More than 100 residents had gathered on a weekend last month to voice their displeasure as well as concerns over the failure by the developer to fulfill all the conditions set for them to meet.
Residents feared motorists from Shah Alam would use the access to get to Subang Jaya and Puchong, adding more volume to the traffic which is already at its worse along Persiaran Tujuan during peak hours.

USJ 3 A,B,C, D neighbourhood watch pro tem chairman Jason Lee handed a memorandum from the residents to ADUN Subang Jaya Hannah Yeoh. The document voices the concerns of residents.
“We want the developer to find a way to solve the traffic problem. We will not allow them to open the link if they don’t comply with the conditions set during the public hearing,” he said.
Hannah said the opening of the link had conditions attached to it:
1.    The upgrade of all junctions along Persiaran Setia;
2.    Construction of a pedestrian bridge at SMK USJ 12;
3.    Sound barriers along Persiaran Setia;
4.    Gantry at the flyover to deter heavy vehicles from plying the route;
5.    Slip road from Kesas Highway to SS19
“I have written to Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim raising the issue and concerns over this matter,” she said.
Hannah said an alternative had to be found if the proposal to build the slip road from Kesas to SS19 cannot be built.
“Raising a gantry across the flyover linking Subang Heights and USJ3 will also mean the Fire & Rescue Department vehicles cannot pass it. We have to build another Bomba station on the other side,” she added.
