MPSJ Offers Support for Car Boot Sale at The Summit USJ

Lots of goodies for everyone...MPSJ president Dato' Adnan Md Ikshan, ADUN Subang Jaya Hannah Yeoh and MPSJ councillor Roslan Shahir joining kids at a stall selling souveniers.
The MAN was impressed. HE was smiling and HE was busy digging into his wallet to pay for the cakes, towel and food he bought from amongst the 90 over 'stalls' lining The Summit USJ Car Boot Sale last weekend.
Although very preoccupied with his purchases, HE couldn't help but notice that many of the stall owners were a little sun burned from the heat of the day and the lack of shade.
That man, Subang Jaya Municipal Council president Dato' Adnan Md Ikshan had something to contribute to the whole event.
"I will help the organisers get someone to sponsor umbrellas or canopies for the booths set up."
"This will make it more comfortable for everyone and also provide an identity for the monthly event," he said, looking proud that the first ever car boot sale organised for charity had gotten off on a good and encouraging start.

Organised and put together by The Summit USJ, SJ Echo, JKP Zone 4 and the New Straits Times, proceeds from the RM50 rental per parking lot this time around went to the Children's Wish Society of Malaysia, a charity dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of children faced with terminal or life-threatening diseases in the country.
More charities will be identified to benefit from every car boot sale successfully carried out monthly.
Both Adnan and Hannah were caught up in the excitement of buying items from the booths, which bascially comprised of a vehicle in the parking lot, with tables and chairs for the owners to sell their items - new or used.
More than 90 parking lots were booked weeks before the event on July 19.

"Such events should be supported as it provides opportunities for people to sell things, used or new."
"This is the first time it is held in Subang Jaya and from what I can see, the response from both the sellers and the buyers is most encouraging," Adnan said.
A total of RM4,350.00 was donated to CWS Malaysia, beings proceeds of the parking booth rental from the event.
