STATE WANTS WIN-WIN FOR SUBANG RIA
by SJECHO22 June 2009

Selangor State Exco Ronnie Liu has finally called a spade a spade on the proposed development of Subang Ria Park.
“If we can keep most parts of the park (although it is private land) for public use with upgrades, I would not say no,” he said to reporters after co-chairing the hearing of the Subang Jaya Draft Local Plan.
Ronnie said there were those who totally objected to any development at Subang Ria while there were those who agreed to allow the land owner to develop 25% of the area while the rest would be set aside as a public park.
“It would cost more than RM100mil to acquire the park, money which the State does not have to do so,” he said, adding that the interest of the public and the land owner needed to be taken care of.
