Affiz Gets His Wish!

CWS Malaysia grants wish to 10 year old leukemia patient
When Affiz Herrie B Rosraimi was at University Hospital and was asked by his doctor, Prof Dr. Wan Ariffin Abdullah, what he would like as a wish from the Children’s Wish Society, he was very shy to answer.
Diagnosed at 2 years of age with leukemia type ALL High Risk, he has been fighting this illness for the last 8 years. CWS had learnt of his condition through Prof Dr. Wan Ariffin.
With the cooperation of his mom, Mariam bt A Rahman, and a visit by CWS to his home in Cheras, Affiz finally made a wish.
Two days later, CWS board member Dr. Su-Lin Chong returned to fulfill his wish. He was presented with a new laptop computer, several DVD movies and 2 games that he had requested.
The wonderful smile on his face as he unwrapped the gifts, made it all worthwhile. With him to enjoy his gift were his two brothers, Affiq Hirzie and Affif Danial, his sister Affify Nadwin, their nephew Hisham, a friend Khairul and his mom. He is the second youngest in a family of four children.
ALL or acute lymphoblastic leukemia is a cancer of the white blood cells. These cells normally help to fight infection. According to his mother, Mariam bt A Rahman, Affiz has been in remission twice. The last time was in 2005. Now at age 10, he is hopeful that he can attend school. His mom, Mariam, has taken a leave of absence from her employer to spend time taking care of his needs.
Persatuan Impian Kanak-kanak Malaysia or The Children’s Wish Society of Malaysia was established last year to help grant wishes to children with life threatening illnesses. Its mission is the desire to see a child smile when their wish is fulfilled. For more information on CWS, email them at: cwsmalaysia@cwsmalaysia.com
