Catch a Rat for 50sen Each

MPSJ starts 3-month campaign in SS12-SS19 to rid the area of rodents

YES! You read it right. The Subang Jaya Municipal Council is offering a bounty of 50 sen for every rat caught.
The three month campaign from June to August will see the council paying for every single rodent caught, big or small.
The campaign which applies to all commercial areas within SS12 to SS19 will involve a daily collection of rodents caught.
According to MPSJ senior assistant health director Dr. Roslan b. Mohamed Hussin, the public could use whatever ways possible to catch the rats.
“You can set rat traps, rat poison or even rat glue. Once you have caught them, give us a call and we will come over to pick them up and pay you on the spot for the number of rats caught,” he said, adding that flyers would be distributed to the commercial areas to encourage owners and traders to participate in this exercise.
Officers will be making their daily rounds from Monday to Sunday from 9am to 10am to pick up the rats caught.
During office hours, the following numbers can be called for pick up - 03-80263183 or 03-80237595. For calls after office hours, contact 019-2758624.
Give us your feedback on this campaign. Write to us at editor@sjecho.com.my and tell us what you think of this. Even better, tell us which food outlet is rat infested.
