Guarded Community Starts at SS19/1

PRIVATE security guards have started patrolling the streets of SS19/1 just two months after residents initiated their safety and community campaign.
With more than half of the 600 over house owners supporting the initiative, the plan to enhance the security around their neighbourhood has materialized.
The guards have been engaged to carry out round the clock patrols, checking on the houses whose owners have supported the scheme.
SS19/1 residents association pro-tem chairman Radin Nasirudin Munir with 16 committee members working with him were all smiles when they officially sent off the guards on the first shift last week.
“Each house owner contributes RM60 monthly for the security guards. Payment is made every quarterly.”
“We hope more house owners will join us and this will eventually mean less cost for everyone,” he said.
The guards on duty will be making their rounds on motorcycles.
Several guard posts will soon be put up at strategic points in the neighbourhood as part of this programme.
