MPSJ Pasar Malam in USJ1

Subang Mewah night market to set the trend for others in Subang Jaya.
ORGANISED, clean and coordinated. That’s how one would describe the reorganized pasar malam located at Persiaran Subang Mewah in USJ1.
Able to accommodate 146 lots equipped with standardized MPSJ canopies, the night market is set to lead the way for modern night markets in the municipality. The market operates twice a week on Tuesdays and Sundays.
According to MPSJ Residents Committee (JKP) Zone 4 councilor Roslan Shahir, the night market is the first of its kind spotting the standard canopies.
“The hawkers association in the area is cooperating with us to keep the place clean. The traders pay a license fee to the council while JKP helps coordinate.”
“The cooperation of the traders is good and crucial to ensure the success of this project,” he said.
Rosland said he hoped to promote the concept further like putting together a flea market.
The pasar malam traders chairman Shazali Ariffin said 70 traders were currently plying their trade at the market.
“We bought the canopies from MPSJ. The stalls are allocated according to the type of items sold.”
“On behalf of the traders, I would like to thank Roslan and MPSJ for providing us with this facility,” he said during the walkabout with Roslan and members of JKP Zone 4 on the first day the night market reopened.
