What's Your Beef?

Pick your meat and learn how to cook it immediately from Las Vascas

HAVE you been toying with the idea of surprising your loved ones and family with a nice juicy steak, lamb chop or salmon but your biggest obstacle is -you don’t know how to prepare it?
Worry no more. Pop over to Las Vascas in Kelana Jaya and you will get help to not only choose the finest cuts of meat but also the recipe and even the ingredients to bring out the chef in you.
Las Vascas has been supplying fine meats to upmarket restaurants in the Klang Valley over the past year. Just a few months ago, the owners managing director Yusof Dayan Iskandar and general manager Freddy Azman Safahan decided to include a small corner of their outlet with a dining area.

“We decided to include this in our shop to allow our customers a chance to experience the best way to cook the meat they buy from us.”
“We can also teach a novice to cook for the family for dinner or lunch in mere hours,” Yusof said.
The easy way out however, is to bring the whole family for an a la carte gourmet of the variety of meat and fish servings Las Vascas can cook up for you.
“We are halal. The meat is from Australia. Even locally sourced beef is from Australian cows.”
“We advise you on what cuts you should have for what you wish to cook. There’s also the choice of choosing meat from grass or grain fed cattle,” Freddy adds in.

Yusof tells us the chilled meat is from a young cow. The meat, according to him is allowed to age for about three weeks (this allows it to tenderize naturally) in vacuum packed bags.
One thing’s for sure. Don’t miss out on the beef burgers. The self-packed beef pate is superb for making your own burgers at home.
And if you are lucky, you might also find their beef pies. Packed with chunks of beef, the pie is ideal as a snack or even a meal as some diners found out.
Las Vascas is located at No 23 Jalan SS5A/11, Kelana Jaya. You can contact the shop at 03-7874 0881/2.
