Introducing the Nissan Navara 2.5A Pickup

Likes –

Dislikes –
- High engine noise intrusion.

- Very heavy trunk lid.
Marketed as the double cab pickup for the niche market, the Nissan Navara is fully equipped to impress the rich. The price tag is RM105, 800 OTR for private registration in West Malaysia which makes it one of the most expensive around.
Looking into the specifications, the list of standard fittings and features explains why the hefty price. The engine has features like DOHC, 16 valves, balancer shafts, common rail direct injection and a variable nozzle turbo-charger with intercooler to generate that massive 128kW maximum power and impressive 403Nm of torque.
A limited slip differential (LSD) and alloy finned axle cover ensures all that power and torque are not wasted on spinning wheels. A fully electronically actuated 2WD, 4WD and 4WD Lock system and 5-speed automatic transmission are added on to ensure positive traction at all times over all types of terrain.
Other standard goodies found in the imported Navara include leather seats, height-adjustable Xenon headlamps, built-in electronic compass on rear view mirror and double wishbone independent front suspension with coil springs. There is a great reluctance to carry messy workers in the back seat of such a plush interior.
Once on board the highly elevated interior, the Navara driver is tempted to exceed the 100km/h speed limit on the highways as there are ample engine stamina and a pretty stable vehicle body to support. Only the engine roar warns you of being too heavy right footed.
