Conserving Nature through Music

In its effort to contribute towards sustainable development and raise awareness about the need for conservation in a world beleaguered with climate change issues, INTI College Subang Jaya’s Rotaract Club joined forces with WWF-Malaysia to organise the Green Evolution Concert recently. 

“We are trying to raise awareness among the student community on the importance of conserving and preserving the environment as well as maintaining the diversity of our natural resources for future generations,” says Natalie Lim Fei Theng, organising chairperson. 

Principal of ICSJ, Mrs Joyce Yuen echoed her comments and called out “to the ICSJ community to join the Earth Hour 2009 on March 28, in support of changes in policy for climate change. Let’s switch off our lights at 8.30pm for one hour on March 28 and save our planet, our habitat.” 

While the ‘real’ Sara Bareilles or Coldplay were not able to perform in Malaysia, their true-blue fans more than made up for it with a riveting performance, which was the ICSJ version of the Live Aid concert. Funds raised through the sale of tickets will be donated to WWF-Malaysia.
