Tanamera ~ One for the Ladies

It’s a Garden of Eden. It’s No Man’s Land. It’s THE place for just ladies to relax, unwind and spend care free hours away from their busy lives.
Tanamera Wellness Centre is truly a spa sanctuary for the ladies. Co-owner Kiran Dhadli says it is imperative to restrict entry to men to provide a safe place for the ladies to indulge in beauty and wellness therapy. So, unfortunately for the men folk, only the ladies will be able to enjoy the services and rejuvenate themselves at Tanamera.
The spa offers incredible Malay traditional services that are categorized into Hair Works, Body Works, Face Works, Foot Works, and Massage Works. They even have special Bridal works and Post-natal care. Within each categories itself, there are many choices to be made according to your needs.
Aside from these individual services, there are also packaged treatments available. The Bayu Spa treatment, for example, takes three and a half hour. It comprises of choice selections from Foot Works, Body Works and Massage Works. There are complimentary Steam, Shower and Bath included in the package as well.
The treatment starts with Foot Works; beginning with the spraying of water onto your calf and all the way down to your feet after which they would wash it then rub essential oils to massage, taking special care at your feet. The feeling afterwards is glorious.
Next comes Massage Works which is aimed at relaxing and rebalancing the body. Long purposeful strokes are utilized which makes it slightly different from the other massages offered out there. As usual, it starts at the legs and slowly moves up to the shoulders.
One then enters the Steam room prior to getting all scrubbed out and splattered in splendid body mask as part of the Body Works section of the treatment. Where you might have fallen asleep during Massage Works, you will surely be awakened in the Steam room which was not unpleasant but awakens the spirit within.
The scrubbing part itself was cold during application but the motion used was quite relaxing and you will feel as if it’s just an extension of the Massage Works previously. The body mask is then applied after scrubbing.
After the mask has hardened, you will be woken up to clean yourself up by showering. Take as long as you need but do remember that you have a bath you can’t miss out on after that. Bathing is a great way to unwind, or rather, to pick you up after a very relaxing spa journey. Tea will be served at this time; take your time to sip it.
By the time you’re done, you will truly be rejuvenated to join the world at large. However, don’t forget to drink lots of water afterwards. “You have to drink water after your treatment to keep your body hydrated,” says Kiran.

Kiran and her business partner, Laili, explained that their services are available to ladies from ages 15 and above, with the exception of Face Works where they prefer to treat those aged 18 and above.
“The youngest that we have had in the spa are 15 year olds doing the hair treatment,” says Kiran. “We’d prefer to treat at least 18 years old for facials but there are the exceptions.” She added further that because they employ Malay traditional treatment, they do not do extraction for facial as it is not part of the treatment.
Aside from the treatment offered, customers can also purchase Tanamera products from the Centre.
The Centre has two delicious promotions for the month of March – a 30% discount for treatment packages above three hours (Bumi and Bayu Spa) and a complimentary 15 minutes tangas treatment with Semarak Api and Mentari Spa packages. Tangas is a traditional ladies treatment.
Tanamera Wellness Centre is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 10am – 8pm and is located at B12-1, Jalan SS15/4D.
It is important to call ahead to make an appointment at 03-5633 2180. For more information, visit www.tanameraspa.com.my
