CHIEF INSPECTOR LOI YEW LIK

BURGLARS, thieves, robbers and bad hats BEWARE!

The new kid on the block - Chief Inspector Loi Yew Lik, 33 who assumed his duties as the new Officer-in-Charge of the USJ8 police station is not someone you can ignore.

He is determined to lead the team at the station to nab the wrong-doers instead of waiting for a crime to happen.

He has the credentials and experience to carry out his word.

Having spent the past 10 years of his career in the police force in the narcotics and intelligence unit of the Selangor contingent, Loi knows the ins and outs of tackling crime.

"I will continue the good work my predecessor (the late Chief Inspector Foo Teik Fong) did here."

"I plan to also come up with new ways of tackling crime to stem the problems residents face here," he said to SJ Echo in an exclusive interview, just two days in his new role.

Loi had just come back from a crime scene in USJ21 where two armed car-jackers were gunned down by police in the afternoon.

End of the road.....the car which was used by the two suspects who were gunned down when they fired shots at the police.

Police officers carrying one of the suspects body away from the crime scene.

Loi said he would have to adjust the way he worked in the force as his previous job required him to keep a low profile to carry out investigations and intelligence work.

" I do realise the expectations that come with being OCS here. This is a challenging position especially in Subang Jaya and USJ."

"We wiill do our best to serve the public but we cannot please everyone," he said.

Even in his two days as OCS, he has been to several meetings with his counterparts and superiors.

"I will revamp and assess crime prevention methods in USJ. I intend to focus on operations to nab the perpetrators instead of waiting for crimes to be committed," he said.

Loi who hails from Sitiawan is married. He has a daughter and son.
