"Various items from fresh food, dry items and even health products will be reduced in price," he said, adding that the prices for fresh items would be maintain at least for two weeks.
He said the prices of dry items and health products would be maintained for one month.

Ameer said the list of items, together with photographs are made available on display at the hypermarket and also on its website.
"This will allow consumers to look through and compare the prices with other hypermarkets."
"We will not always be the cheapest for every item but in one basket of items you select, many items are the cheapest you can get anywhere," he said.
Shahrir who praised Mydin for joining the ministry in its efforts to reduce the burden on the people said the Government had to activate the country's economy by encouraging spending.
"To do so, we have to provide competitive prices. Everyone can work together to stimulate the economy."
"Consumers should focus on essential and important items when selecting what they buy while suppliers could use their economic power to pass on benefits to consumers," he said.
Shahrir said the Ministry would monitor prices and make comparison of prices in hypermarkets.
"I urge Mydin to also consider ways to reach out to the rural areas. Presently, urban consumers benefit more than their rural folks because of the difference of purchasing power."
"Mydin has the experience and knowledge to improve the distribution cost and subsequently the cost of products which are sent to rural areas," he said.
