ADUN Brushes Aside Speculation on Development Projects in Subang
Huge turnout at Second Town Hall Meeting in SS18
DON’T speculate and believe rumors going around about supposed development plans for Subang Ria and the proposed LRT route.
That message was loud and clear from Subang Jaya State Assemblyman Hannah Yeoh during her meet-the-residents session at the second Town Hall Meeting held at SS18 recently.
“The Subang Jaya Municipal Council has informed me that they have not received any development proposals from Sime Darby with regards Subang Ria.”
“Rumors had gone around that I had approved the proposed development by Sime Darby. That is not true,” she said to the more than 150 residents who showed up to meet her.
Hannah said Sime Darby had merely shared their ideas with the Residents Committee (JKP Zone 1) last month.
“During the recent State Assembly sitting, I had urged the State Government to gazette open areas,” she said.
On the question from a resident about that status of the LRT and also its route, Hannah said she had not heard from the concessionaire since the last meeting she had with them.
“There’s no confirmed route yet. Residents feedback must be sought on the proposed route.”
“It is premature to speculate as there’s no official proposed route as yet,” she said.
On the status of the Subang Jaya Draft Local Plan, she said the document was still with the State Government.
“We are waiting for the State to call for a public hearing,” she said.
The meeting ended after a few short discussions on crime, public amenities and traffic congestion in Subang Jaya.
