SUNWAY PYRAMID RECEIVES ASIA SHOPPING CENTRE AWARDS 2008
Sunway Pyramid clinched the Silver Award for Development and Design category of the inaugural ICSC Asia Shopping Centre Awards 2008 at the prestigious award presentation ceremony held in Macao recently. The mall was one of the only two Malaysian malls to secure the coveted award that saw entries from all over Asia.
Mr Kevin Tan, General Manager, Marketing & Leasing was present to receive the award from ICSC officials at the gala dinner held at The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel, Macao. Also present at the ceremony were staff from the mall's Centre Management Office.
‘This award is a testament of excellence for Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall as it acknowledges the great work done by the management team to create the best themed mall in Malaysia,’ said Kevin Tan, moments after receiving the award.
Organised by International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) for the very first time for Asian shopping malls, the award was conceived to honour the shopping centre industry’s most cutting-edge properties, innovative solutions and creative responses to market trends. It also served to acknowledge the trendsetters in the design, development and operations of shopping centres.
As the premier recognition of excellence within the region’s shopping centre industry, as determined by a panel of top industry professionals; judging were based on overall global design concept; land use with emphasis on master site plan configuration and layout; shopping mall design; development goals; financial performance; innovation and sustainable development.
