FLOWERS GALORE AT SUNWAY PYRAMID

Malaysia bursts with its natural colours during the Malaysia Flora Fest 2008, with a Garden of Eve here at Sunway Pyramid! Taking this cue, the shopping mall showed its strong support of Malaysia's breath-taking natural surroundings, by creating their own gargantuan floral arrangement.

Encompassing the ground floor of Sunway Pyramid, the arrangement known as the Malaysian Garden of Eve was launched by the Deputy-Director General of Tourism Malaysia Dato' Razali Md Daud last month.

"It is very commendable of Sunway Pyramid to take on this endeavour and support not only the Ministry of Tourism and Malaysia Flora Fest but also showing an exemplary attitude towards fostering the love of nature amongst Malaysians and tourists alike,” Razali said.

The concept of the Malaysian Garden of Eve revolves around the theme of Harmony in Bloom in tandem with Malaysia Flora Fest 2008's theme. Displaying the harmony of Malaysia's multi-cultural population by using musical instruments of all Malaysian cultures as the focal depiction, the Garden of Eve is indeed a splendour to behold.

Using over 25,000 stalks of local flora from the many strains of Chrysanthemums (Bunga Kekwa), Anthuriums, Celosia, Orchids, Gerberas (Hebras), Gladiolus, Lilies, Hydrangeas (Bunga Tiga Bulan), Roses (Mawar), Brassica (Kubis Bunga), vegetables and even foliages, some of the instruments showcased include the Rebana Ubi of the Malay culture, Chinese Drum from the Chinese culture and Sitar from the Indian culture.

"We are very enthusiastic in showing our support for the Malaysia Flora Fest in this manner simply because it is of a good cause. It encourages not only Malaysians but tourists alike to appreciate nature, and to take this opportunity to learn more of what Malaysia's natural landscape has to offer. With this mall's excellent track record of patrons reaching 2.5 million per month, the human traffic here is a definite boon in our united cause", H C Chan, Senior General Manager of Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall said.
