Illegal dumpsite in Subang
| ONE MONTH – that is the period the owner of a plot of land in Bukit Lanchong has been given to clear waste dumped illegally at the site. |
“Should the land owner fail to adhere to the directive, we will propose to the Petaling District Land Office that the Selangor State Government confiscate that piece of land,” said Adnan yesterday.
The decision was made following a meeting on July 9 between the council, the land owner, a representative of the Seri Muda State assembly and residents of Putra Heights, who had complained of a foul stench and open burning in the area.
Adnan also said that MPSJ had, since March, issued seven compounds to lorry drivers who had dumped domestic and garden wastes illegally at the site.
The land owner was also slapped with a RM25,000 fine for going against the approval that was given under Section 70(A)3 Act 133 1974 followed by a March 14 stop-work order on land reclamation works.
On another note, Adnan said MPSJ will take over abandoned cabins left in various locations all over Puchong if the notices the council has been issuing, urging the owners to remove them, continue to be ignored.
He said there are 50 abandoned cabins, 28 of which belong to certain political parties and 22 owned by residents committees and Rela.
“Until recently, only a small number of cabins have been removed. I call on the cabin owners to remove them before July 22. Failing which, we will take over ownership of the cabins and hand them over to residents committees in Subang Jaya to enable them to conduct their community activities,” he said.
