SJ Police Launch Ops Sikap 25

SUBANG JAYA, JAN 20: ONE hundred and forty nine summonses have been issued for various traffic offences in Subang Jaya since the launch of Ops Sikap 25 on Jan 16 in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year.

Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Yahaya Ramli said motorists were issued summonses for speeding and various other traffic offences.

'We issued the most summonses to motorists during the past 4 days for not wearing their passenger safety belts while driving.'

'We are also mobilising our infra red camera to catch motorists who drive above the speed limit in Subang Jaya,' he said to reporters after checking on the camera's use along Persiaran Tujuan on Friday.

A total of five officers and 49 police personnel will be mobilised for Ops Sikap 25 in Subang Jaya until the end of the month.

'Our efforts to keep Subang Jaya safe during the exodus for the Chinese New Year will be three fold. We have our Umbrella (Payung) units which will be posted at strategic spots in the district.'

'We will also our cameras to deter motorists from speeding along the major roads. Apart from that, our personnel will also be going around checking on homes registered with us for the Balik Kampung campaign,' he said.

Yahaya is expected to be joining his officers on rounds during the coming long break for Chinese New Year.
