New Traffic Flow for SS16/1

New Traffic Flow Management System to be Implemented on Jan 15 2012

MOTORISTS traveling along Jalan SS16/1 and surrounding take note.

A new traffic flow management system will be implemented by the Subang Jaya Municipal Council effective January 15 2012 along Jalan SS16/1, Jalan Jengka and Jalan SS16/2, as part of efforts to ease traffic congestion in the area.

MPSJ president Dato Asmawi Kasbi said the first phase of the project would be to turn several roads in the area into One-Way streets.

"The stretch of Jalan Jengka between Subang Parade and Wisma Tractor will be turned into a two way traffic flow."

"We will be turning Jalan SS16/1 into a One-Way street," he said.

Asmawi said a concrete island will be built at the intersection of Jalan SS16/1-Jalan SS16/2 to deter illegal U-turns by motorists coming from Jalan Kemajuan Subang at the intersection.

"We will maintain two-way traffic along Jalan SS16/2. To deter illegal parking along the stretch, we will be instructing the management of Carrefour to close off their public access side entrance facing SS16/2."

"Illegal parking and loading of stocks by their suppliers have been contributing to the congestion along this small road," he said.

He said Sime Darby Brunsfield Holding Sdn Bhd would also be instructed to build the road linking Casa Tiara Apartments with Mesiniaga.

Asmawi said MPSJ would also be making their enforcement presence felt along Jalan SS16/1, Jalan SS16/2 and Jalan Kemajuan Subang to nip illegal parking.

"Please bear with us for the next 2 weeks as we implement the changes to the area for a better traffic flow," he said.

Also present with Asmawi was ADUN Subang Jaya Hannah Yeoh.
