Yee Sang Treat for Police

SUBANG JAYA: POLICE officers from the USJ8 and SS17 stations
were given a "prosperity" treat recently for their hard work in keeping
homes safe during the Chinese New Year Balik Kampung holidays.
Individually packed halal "yee sang" was distributed to the officers at
both stations, many of whom had never tasted the Chinese New Year
spread before.
Kelana
Jaya MCA divisional vice chairman Yap Yun Fatt who presented the
packets of yee sang, prepared by a Malay restaurant in Subang Jaya,
said the treat was a token of appreciation to the police who had worked
hard in keeping homes left vacant during the Chinese New Year safe.

"During these past week, no break-ins have been recorded in the homes
of owners who registered with the police under the Balik Kampung Rumah
Selamat campaign. The police have been working round the clock in
keeping the crime rate down," he said after presenting the packets of
yee sang to the officers.
Yap, who is also the special assistant to the Subang Jaya State
Assemblyman, said many non-Chinese had never tasted the delicacy and as
such, he felt it appropriate to have the dish prepared for everyone,
even Muslims to enjoy.
"We had the yee sang packed for one person portions so that officers
who are patrolling in the neighbourhood can enjoy it while taking a
break," Yap said.
Officers
at both stations joined Yap in tossing the yee sang for prosperity and
good luck before digging in to enjoy the dish with specially made sauce
- honey with ginger juice extract, which tasted just right for the
occasion.
