Ang Pao With Love at The Summit Subang USJ

EIGHTY children from Compassion Home and Ractar had an early Chinese New Year celebration at The Summit Subang USJ's Ang Pao With Love 2008 celebrations.
Without a doubt, there were smiles all around with the children putting up some very light and entertaining numbers to celebrate the coming festival.
Organised jointly by The Summit Subang USJ and Subang Jaya State Assemblyman's Service Clinic, the event captured the air of festivities with lots of stage shows and performances ranging from line dancing by a group from Kelana Jaya , singing performances, lively Chinese lion dance, and last but not least, the arrival of The God of Prosperity.
Organising chairperson, MCA Kelana Jaya Wanita Chairman and MBPJ Councillor Madam Ong Chong Swen, said that the annual event was an exhibition of the Chinese culture.
Subang Jaya State Assemblyman Dato' Lee Hwa Beng who was also present with his wife, Datin Lee Soo Soo, took the opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year and expressed hope that everyone would make “more money” in this coming New Year.
“We celebrate Chinese New Year with children from Compassion Home and Ractar annually as a small gesture to show that we remember them.”
“On top of that, the performances put up today are a showcase of how we Chinese practise our culture,” he said.
Meda Inc. Berhad Chief Operating Officer You Kong Hean, who was also present, said that 2008 is a very special year for the company as they are celebrating their 10th anniversary which makes the Festival even more meaningful.
“We would like our shoppers and the neighbourhood to join us in celebrating the Year of the Rat in 2008 with greater pomp and camaraderie. Enjoy yourselves and support our up coming celebrations and events that we have planned for you,” he added.
The children from the two homes wound up the day with a walk through The Lost City.
