Early Morning Raid
Six nabbed in raids by MPSJ on entertainment outlets in Sunway for drugs in joint MPSJ-ADK-JAIS ops

Two of those nabbed were tested positive for morphine while another three tested positive for methamphetamine (syabu). Another patron tested positive for ketamine.
All of those detained were men except for a 21-year female who had tested positive for morphine.
The combined effort between the Subang Jaya Municipal Council, National Drug Agency and the Selangor Religious Department (JAIS) which was led by MPSJ enforcement director Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali raided the two outlets which started at 1.15am and ended at 4.30am.
MPSJ president Dato’ Adnan md Ikshan who was present said the raiding party checked all 1,200 patrons in the two outlets and found 6 under-aged patrons.
“Both operators of the outlets will be slapped with the maximum compound of RM5,000 each under Section 11(2) Entertainment Enactment 1995 for allowing under-aged patrons into their premises.”
“The Selangor Religious Department enforcement team detained a Muslim for consuming alcohol and booked another 5 females for being indecently dressed,” he said.
Those detained for drug abuse will be detained under Section 3(1) Drug Dependents (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983 and produced before a Magistrate. The Magistrate can order that the person undergo treatment and rehabilitation at a Rehabilitation Centre for a period of two years and thereafter to undergo supervision by an officer for another two years.
The Magistrate can also order for the drug abuser to undergo supervision by an officer at a place specified for a period not less than two and not more than three years.
JAIS enforcement team was headed by their special action unit head Mohd Haffizi Mohd Roslan while the National Drug Agency was headed by its officer Mohd Fauzan Mohd Arif.
