Quick Takes from Draft Local Plan Public Briefing

SS 13 Industrial Area

Owners of lots in the SS13 industrial area can convert their properties into high-rise apartments, condominiums or places of worship under the draft local plan, according to Subang Jaya State Assemblyman Dato' Lee Hwa Beng. This proposal, however, does not apply to lots in the Subang Hi-tech area.

Risk to high-rise buildings

The return of commercial budget airlines to Terminal 3, Subang, is now posing a risk to high-rise buildings in Subang Jaya. Since their “departure” to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport a few years ago, the height of buildings has increased from 15-storeys to 22-storeys now. Subang Jaya State Assemblyman Dato' Lee Hwa Beng said that the authorities faced a dilemma with the return of airlines which fly over the municipality. Noise pollution from the aircrafts was also another issue which came with this.
