Draft Local Plan
Comments on the Draft Local Plan by Lau Bing – Chairman, Consumer Association Subang Jaya/USJ Protem Committee and a resident of Subang Jaya
1. Please redirect the
flight path over Subang Jaya because the height of buildings in the
township has risen to 22 storeys.
These high-rise buildings are a
danger to low flying aircrafts as budget airlines are presently
operating out of Terminal 3 Airport in Subang.
We do not want any
aircrafts to crash here and that means we cannot take any
risks.
These aircrafts are noisy and this contributes sound
pollution in the area.
2. Since, the inception of Subang Jaya
township, some thirty years ago, the local municipal council has yet
to build a centre for senior citizens. As a result, these senior
citizens are forced to run their club from a rented premise. Now, it
is the time for MPSJ to do the needful, like giving a piece of land
in Subang Jaya to the senior citizens to build its own building,
hopefully, before 2020.
3. Until today, Subang Jaya has no
Public Dialysis Center where the poor can go and have their dialysis
treatments within their affordability. Please take note of this and
to include this request into the Draft Local Plan.
4. You have my support to bring the
LRT line into Subang Jaya but there is no station mentioned in the
Draft Local Plan for this stretch of road coming in right from the
Jalan Jengka Junction until the end.
Please have a station for
commuters to board the train right opposite the 7-11 shop in Jalan SS
14/1 to be included into the Draft Local Plan. Otherwise, the line
does not make any sense when it does not service the residents living
in SS 14 and SS 18.
There is land to build the station and a
portion of the field in SS 18 can be used as a car park.
The
present drawing of the line running alongside the mosque into Jalan
Jengka is not practical.
In fact, it should run alongside where
the Imperial China Restaurant (Tai Thong Restaurant) is located.
Please do the needful and have the line moved to the other side of
the road, when the Draft Local Plan is being redrawn.
5.
Because of the good roads inside Subang Jaya, motorists are often
seen driving a little faster. This is a danger to pedestrians and
other road users in the area.
The worst is when MPSJ are planting
hedges, shrubs and leafy plants on the road dividers.
More often
than not, the visibility of a pedestrian trying to cross the road
while standing on the road divider is greatly hampered by these
“obstacles”.
As a result, there were many incidents of
pedestrians being hit by a moving car as they dash across to the
other side of road, especially at night.
For the public’s
safety sake, please include this request to stop MPSJ permanently
from planting hedges, shrubs and leafy plants on the road dividers in
the township.
