How Clean Is Your School Toilet?

MPSJ hopes to change mindset on toilets among youths in Subang Jaya
HOW many of us have this lingering fear when we need to step into a public toilet? How many of us remember the times when we walked into our school toilet with our nose pinched to keep the excruciating stench from making us faint?
If the Subang Jaya Municipal Council has its way, dirty school toilets will be a thing of the past. Taking the initiative to have cleaner toilets for our school-goers, MPSJ recently launched its Clean School Toilets Contest, promising cash prizes for the winning schools.
“Schools are where our children learn to be responsible adults when they grow up. One of the important factors is inculcating the habit of keeping toilets in schools clean.”
“That is why we are widening our scope to cover schools to encourage them to maintain a clean toilet,” MPSJ president Dato’ Adnan Md Ikshan said, adding that the condition of toilets reflect what we are as a society.
The Clean Toilets Contest will run from now until August this year and is open to all schools in the municipality.
Cash prizes are up for grabs. More information on the contest can be obtained from MPSJ’s Health Department at 03-8026 3169.
