IOI MALL BREAKS RECORD FOR TALLEST CHINESE LANTERN.

by SJECHO
2 February 2010

Shoppers doing their Chinese New Year shopping at IOI Mall would not fail to miss the colossal structure in the form of a lantern that measures a staggering 60 feet in height, and 11 feet in width.

Endorsed by the Malaysia Book of Records as the tallest Chinese lantern in Malaysia, this remarkable feat has been made possible by IOI Mall's dedicated visual merchandising team.

The painstaking process of constructing the lantern from concept to completion had taken 4 weeks. The estimated cost is RM50,000.00.

As with previous years, IOI Mall has come up with an exciting programme beginning 13 January especially for Chinese New Year.

Highlights include the appearance of the God of Prosperity, Chinese Instrumental Musical Performance, Acrobatic Lion Dance Performance, Shaolin Kung Fu Performance and many more.

Besides being entertained, shoppers can also look forward to receiving various giveaways and other freebies.

From 13 January, shoppers can redeem a pack of ang pow packets free with every purchase of RM50 and above from any outlet (except Jusco) on the same day in a single or accumulated receipt.

Since its opening on 13 March 2009, IOI Mall’s new extension has been a major crowd-puller not only for shoppers in Puchong but also from the surrounding neighbourhoods.

The multitude of fashion stores, beauty salons, fitness centres, bookstores, F&B outlets and other retail shops offer a world of endless shopping excitement under one roof.

So, don't forget to take your camera along the next time you visit IOI Mall!
