Man sought by police to help in road accident case

TAMAN KINRARA:
Subang Jaya traffic police are looking for an Indian man, Sethu Chinniah, 44, to assist them in a fatal hit and run accident in Taman Kinrara last Friday.
The whole incident unfolded when an Indonesian woman who was plying her goreng pisang stall at Taman Kinrara 4 fell victim to a hit and run accident. She was flung into 3-metre deep drain after being hit by the vehicle, a Proton Wira Aeroback.
In the 4.15pm incident, the victim, who is only known as Siti Maryanah, 25 was frying goreng pisang at her makeshift stall at Jalan TK4 when a driver in a Proton Wira Aeroback suddenly lost control and ramped into her.
A spokesman for Subang Jaya IPD Traffic Division said the impact flung the victim a few metres from her stall into the drain.
“The victim suffered two broken legs and severe trauma to the head. She died on the way to the hospital.”
“The stall is all smashed up by the car which rammed her. The vehicle was found about 30 metres from the accident site,” the spokesman said.
The spokesman said investigations led police to the car owner, a Malaysian living nearby.
“The vehicle owner claimed that he had passed the car keys to an Indian man who worked as a car wash attendant, to have his vehicle washed.”
“The owner claimed he had known the suspect for some time and that the man stayed in a nearby flat,” he said.
“The suspect, aged 44 fled the accident scene and has since gone missing. The victim’s body has yet been claimed by her next of kin.”
Anyone with information on the accident or who know the whereabouts of Sethu Chinniah, 44 are urged to call The Investigating Officer, Subang Jaya IPD Traffic Division -Inspector Rasha Azrul Shaffi di talian 03-89422222.
