Council grasscutters stumble upon skeletal remains of woman in dilapidated house in SS14 Subang Jaya

THE skeletal remains of a 60-year-old woman was found inside a dilapidated house believed to belong to the deceased, Lim Hooi Ying, in SS14 Subang Jaya today (Nov 30).
Police were notified when MPSJ grasscutters stumbled upon the remains from the window of the house which was left open.
The body was found in a mummified state, with only dried powdery skin left on the skeletal frame, crouched in a cradle-like position on the floor.
The house was in a mess with her belongings all scattered over the floor of the double-storey link house.
According to neighbours, Lim was hardly seen outside her house. Many had believed she only visited the house occassionally to clean it up but had never thought they would one day come across the gruesome find.
They described her as a loner who rarely talked to anyone. The house is believed to be without electricity or water for more than a year.
SS17 police station Chief Inspector Sulaiman Baputty who was at the scene said they found Lim's old passports. He suspected no foul play.
"From what we discovered, we suspect she was ill and died of her illness as there were no signs of a struggle," he said.
Police are trying to locate Lim's next of kin. Her last known address is 278 Jalan 5/46, Petaling Jaya. She was born in Negeri Sembilan.
Anyone with information on Lim can call Sulaiman at 019-3707100 or the station at 03-5633 2222.
