Shop for a Cause

Fifty three single mothers and OKUs receive aid from ADUN Subang Jaya for Hari Raya
DURING the last Hari Raya, 53 single mothers and OKUs received aid from ADUN Subang Jaya Hannah Yeoh in the form of shopping vouchers worth RM70 each.
The group got to redeem the vouchers immediately at Caremart, a convenience shop located in USJ3 (Taman Perindustrian 3), for essential goods like rice, sugar and other goods.
The smile on every recipient’s face said it all as they could look forward to a merrier Hari Raya.
“We decided to channel aid to single mothers and OKUs this time around instead of organizing Open Houses.”
“Each received RM70 worth of vouchers which they can instantly purchase with,” Hannah said during the launch of the event at Caremart.
She thanked the Caremart management for responding immediately to the request.
Caremart according to its director Eu Hong Seng, was set up under the Full Gospel Tabernacle as a non-profit convenience store.
“It’s a community project under FGT. One hundred percent of the profits go to the needy under this project,” he said.
Eu said the poor could apply for a card which entitles them to a discount of 30% every time they shopped at the shop.
Of the 53 recipients, 22 were from SS19 and 31 were from Angsana in USJ1.
Caremart is open from 8am to 7pm daily.
