Sign up with the Police before you head home for the festival
It's one more week before Chinese New Year celebrations . Have you signed up with the Police to watch over your house?
Many house owners are expected to lock up and leave their properties vacant to head back to their hometowns to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Rat with their loved ones.
Over the years statistics have shown that this is the period when our properties are most vulnerable to break-ins as so many will also take the opportunity to go away for a holiday, leaving many neighbourhoods almost like ghost towns.
So, who's watching over your house or property while you are away?
For festivals like these, the Police have a “Balik Kampung-Rumah Selamat” campaign which mobilises almost all their personnel to watch over the houses of owners who have gone away.
Several times a day, Police personnel will visit your house and check for any activity around it. They will also leave you a form which notes their time of visit and any observations made.
It's so easy to sign up for this programme. Just fill up the form on this page and send it to your nearest Police Station.
In order for this programme to work, you have to take the first step. Sign up today. Do not delay.
For more information or to send your forms, contact the Subang Jaya District Police Station at 03-8948 4822 or fax to 03-8945 0859 .You can also contact your nearest Police Station.
