IT PAYS TO SPEND TO TRAVEL AFAR!

It would be a dream for anybody to fly to Rome – a perfect getaway for two. Visiting St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City and the Colosseum would be simply breathtaking. Only Thiruselvam Arumugam, 37, and his other half would be experiencing that when he was announced the winner of Sunway Pyramid Grand Lucky Pick contest held in conjunction with the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2009.
Thiruselvam became the lucky spender to take home two air tickets to Rome, Italy, sponsored by Malaysia Airlines. Present to hand the mock air ticket were Kevin Tan, Chief Operating Officer of Sunway Pyramid and David Raj, Head of Marketing-Malaysia & Asean, Malaysia Airlines.
Describing his feeling, Thiruselvam, a resident of Puchong said, “I feel very lucky as I didn’t expect to win. It’s my first time winning something as I have never won in any contest!”
Thiruselvam explained that he was at the right place at the right time. “I was just standing at the Concierge counter waiting for my wife when the attendant behind the counter handed me the contest form,” he explained. “From there, I just filled in the form, attached my receipt and submitted it. But I never expected to win.”
Asked about the other lucky half who will be sharing his win, Thiruselvam replied it would definitely be his wife. “When I am there, I will visit the Vatican City then tour the around country for 7 – 10 days,” adds the Executive Director for PPC International.
The Sunway Pyramid Grand Lucky Pick was a part of the mall’s own mega sale-themed campaign, ‘Sunway Pyramid Streets of the World Mega Sale’. Held for two months, beginning 4 July till 31 August, shoppers who spent RM200 and above were entitled to participate in the contest. The contest was divided into two tiers – the weekly Lucky Pick and Grand Lucky Pick.
For eight consecutive weeks, shoppers stood a chance to win weekly Lucky Picks – local air travel tickets to Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and Penang.
Those who did not win the weekly prizes had the chance to win the grand lucky pick, which were air tickets for two to Rome. Determined by a lucky draw system, the winner would be announced at the end of the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival period.
The weekly Lucky Pick air tickets were sponsored by Malaysia Airlines as well.
